December Womenar: Turn Your Struggle into Your Superpower; What to do When Life Throws You a Curveball

Wednesday, December 13, 2023 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM) (MST)

Description

Launched by our Women in Tech CO Council, our Womenar series are bi-monthly webinars that aim to identify and understand the issues facing women in technology and leadership positions. We invite both men and women to engage in these bi-monthly programs.

At this month's session, we will hear from Dr. Maggie Kang. Maggie will share lessons she has learned about maintaining our mental health in tough times, highlighting the power of resiliency. Using her story, Maggie shares ways that we can process difficulties in our lives and turn them into an asset, or, a superpower. We will all face curveballs throughout life, having a toolkit for handling them is what makes all the difference.

Speaker:

Dr. Maggie Kang

Dr. Maggie Kang is a board-certified radiologist trained at Yale, mom of two kids, one with a rare disease. She was the radiologist who was the first to see her nine-year-old daughter’s horrifying brain MRI in the ER. Her daughter was diagnosed with a rare disease, neuromyelitis optica.

The ordeal motivated Maggie to shift her focus from radiology to mental well-being. Now a certified Life Coach, Maggie dedicates her time to supporting parents of kids in the rare and chronic disease communities. She also works with moms of kids with chronic needs one-on-one in her private coaching practice, MaggieKangMD LLC.
