NOW HIRING: CTA Membership Development Manager

SUMMARY

The Colorado Technology Association (CTA) Membership Development Manager is the lead membership salesperson for CTA responsible for the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. The Membership Development Manager is a critical function and a very visible role at CTA and one that requires a self-motivated and goal-orientated individual. This position reports into the Vice President of Corporate Engagement and works closely with the Membership Operations and Experience Manager.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. New Membership Sales:
  • Primarily responsible for the recruitment of new members at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of CTA’s strategy and budget.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a robust and qualified list of new member prospects that will ensure budget and personal goals are reached and exceeded.
  • Sells CTA memberships using proven sales strategies and a defined plan of action for prospecting, follow-up and closing.
  • Maintains fee structure integrity, value of services and products with new member outreach and sales.
  • Documents all contacts with prospective members in CTA’s membership database.
  • Performs onboarding process for all new member companies to capture member information and train on how to maximize the value of membership.
  • Attends community-based events regularly for the purpose of networking and gaining membership leads.
  • Creates membership attraction and referral campaigns.
  1. Membership Renewals:
  • Drives membership renewals at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of CTA’s budget.
  • Drives to a recurring schedule of tasks to work with members to renew membership through face-to-face/Zoom meetings, email, phone calls and digital outreach.
  • Develops and implements strategies for member retention in cooperation with the Vice President of Corporate Engagement, COO and the President/CEO.
  • Monitors past due memberships; coordinates an outreach plan for collecting delinquent membership dues and involves staff as appropriate.
  • Creates membership reports for staff, committees, Board of Directors meetings, etc.
  • Attends CTA produced events to engage with members and recruit new member prospects.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sponsorships: Identify new sponsors from the membership base and refer to the Vice President of Corporate Engagement to secure new sponsors.
  • Event Support: Support registration at CTA events, greet attendees, hand out name badges, etc.
  • Engagement Management: Support the Membership Operations and Experience Manager in monitoring the health and engagement of members throughout the year to ensure high renewal rates. Conduct outreach related to CTA programs and events to engage members in the work we do.
  • Community Engagement: Attend outside events to grow membership prospects and support our members in the community.
  • Additional Duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related degree.
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience with a track record of success.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with office technology tools (e.g. G Suite, Microsoft Office) & experience working with a CRM system to track prospect and member engagement.

COMPENSATION:

Base pay $60,000-$65,000 with on-target earnings potential of $95,000.
